Parenting skills

In parenting courses, topics are divided into two categories: 1. Methods and skills 2. Coach abilities. Like repairing a car, human upbringing requires both knowledge of repair methods and specific abilities, just as a mechanic needs to know repair methods and possess certain mechanical skills.

In the process of upbringing, there are precisely a series of methods that some families may know, but they themselves may not have the necessary psychological, mental, and personality traits. Therefore, they cannot educate their children well. For example, a mother may have read dozens of books on parenting but may currently be feeling depressed. This reduces her performance and prevents her from easily implementing her parenting knowledge within the family environment.

Parenting has three pillars. The first pillar is parental harmony for role division. Parents must divide roles in upbringing. In many cases, parental disharmony arises from role conflict or improper division. In role division, the father should be the manager, and the mother should be the educator. If upbringing is carried out according to this formula or division, there will be no interference, and beautiful harmony will ensue, much like a school. To run a school, the principal must do his job, and the teacher must do hers. If, in a certain matter, the teacher interferes in the management role, her work will suffer, and vice versa. Therefore, both cannot be managers or both educators.

The second pillar of successful upbringing is familiarity with the methods and principles of parenting. For example, knowing how to discipline children, build their self-esteem, boost their self-confidence, nurture their intelligence, and stimulate their creativity—all of these constitute familiarity with the principles and methods of upbringing. The third pillar of upbringing is the mentor's personal health. This course is aimed at examining and explaining this pillar. The qualities and traits of individuals with personal health in the Quran, the results of personal health, and finally, the damages caused by lack of personal health are discussed.
