The Head of the Policy Council for the Production of Islamic Humanities at the Imam Khomeini Institute:

"The goal of the transformation in the humanities is to recognize the truth and perfection of man and to offer it to humanity."

Hujjat al-Islam Dr. Ali Mesbah, President of the Council for the Transformation of Humanities at the Imam Khomeini Institute, said at a brainstorming session on the transformation of the humanities held at the University of Tehran's Dialogue House on Saturday night: "What has happened in the humanities is that we see flaws and mistakes in the methods, values, and foundations of the sciences that lead to wrong results. By virtue of truth-seeking, we must rectify these shortcomings and replace them with sound foundations."

According to the Public Relations Department of the Imam Khomeini Educational and Research Institute, Hujjat al-Islam Dr. Ali Mesbah added: "For us as Muslims, truth-seeking is a value. This truth, no matter by whom it is discovered, is valuable to us and we must accept it."

A member of the faculty of the Imam Khomeini Educational and Research Institute continued: "The goal of the transformation is to know the truth about man and to offer it to humanity. Why are we looking for a transformation? What is the cause of this need that we feel? What is meant by transformation?"

In another part of his speech, Hujjat al-Islam Dr. Ali Mesbah said: "The goal of the transformation in the humanities is not to fight the West or to prove our superiority as an Eastern country in the face of colonialism. The goal of the transformation is to know the truth about man and to offer it to humanity."

The President of the Council for the Transformation of Humanities at the Imam Khomeini Institute stated: "The existing sciences are incapable of even organizing the existing problems of the West itself; because they are incomplete in their knowledge of man and in offering different guidelines for him. And if we call this transformation Islamicization, it is because Islam educates man in a way that transcends the perspective of experience and the material to see non-material truths; truths that are related to the essence and real perfection of man."

Hujjat al-Islam Dr. Ali Mesbah concluded his speech by saying: "According to what has been presented, we must start the transformation of the humanities from the foundations. The knowledge of man, explained on the basis of valid rational and traditional principles, should be the basis of the method of the humanities."

The meeting, which was held at the initiative of the President of the University of Tehran, Dr. Ahmad Moghimi, was attended by the Head of the Office of the Supreme Leader in the Universities and a number of professors from the حوزه و دانشگاه and experts and intellectuals in the field of humanities. Several professors presented their theories and views on the transformation of the humanities.
